I’ve found a great new travel website: Travel Gumbo. Actually they found me. On Twitter. True!
Incredible isn’t it? Especially when you stop to think that there are more than 9,000 tweets shared every second. Today, so far, at the time of typing, over 430,000,000 tweets have flown off into the twitter sphere. Which makes it rather miraculous that anyone anywhere would find me. I’m the smallest of the small fry. Why, entire days go by without so much as a single peep from me! I working on changing that.
And, after finding me, Dr Fumblefinger, one of the Travel Gumbo founders, asked if I’d be interested in writing a guest post!! I’ll admit it, my eyes popped when I read that! There was only ever going to be the one answer. But before giving it I did check out their site – caution being the better part of valour and all that. I made it as far as their by-line: “By travelers, for travelers”. That’s me, I thought. I’m in, research done.
And that’s exactly what Travel Gumbo is: a community of travellers sharing travel stories, travel tips and information. There’s even the occasional Where in the World is Travel Gumbo brain teaser. The latest has really got me guessing.
The site is the perfect place for a post I’ve been planning for a while – an overview of our Laotian adventures: the best of the best.

Check it out: Off the beaten track in Northern Laos. And while you’re there have a look around the Travel Gumbo site. It’s fun. It’s informative. And, it’s guaranteed to give you itchy feet!

enjoyed that site very much – need to look aorudn a bit more – but those kind of reviews (and stuff on travel advisor) really come in handy for so many folks – and I saw your posts on Laos – so I was familiar with some of what you shared – and my favorite part – was the ease of flow – you hit the highlights with rich photos and with an easy read level that was no fuss (something like that).
